Arts for Transit program began in 1985 and includes works by a number of artists including Roy Lichtenstein, Romare Bearden, Faith Ringgold, Mary Miss, and Michele Oka Doner.
The photos on this page are from the South Ferry Terminal. It is the first public artwork by the Starns, 47-year-old identical twins who work in Brooklyn, they view it as integral to a continuing project, “Structure of Thought,” rooted in their preoccupation with time and natural bonds.
